In line with the decision of the Ministry of Health on November 22, 1996, Artvin School of Health was established under the protocol signed between the Ministry of Health and the Council of Higher Education to carry out the education of Midwifery, Nursing, and Health Officer at the undergraduate level under the Decision No. 185/1 of 23 May 1995. Artvin School of Health, which could not be put into operation immediately for various reasons, started its education in 2003-2004 academic year with its students from 32 Nursing Departments and 30 Health Officer Departments. The Department of Health Officer was changed as the Nursing Department by being considered equivalent to nursing education with the law numbered 5634 dated April 25, 2007.
Our faculty includes the Department of Emergency and Disaster Management, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Department of Child Development, Department of Occupational Therapy Department, Department of Nursing, and Department of Occupational Health and Safety. The academic and physical structuring process required for admitting students to other departments continues in our Faculty, which is continuing its educational activities with the students of the Department of Nursing and Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Our faculty continues its activities under the Presidency of Artvin Coruh University with theoretical and practical studies in various health institutions and organizations in the city centre primarily for education and training, to train nurses and dietitians who will contribute to public health in the future.
